The rack and pinion steering gear was cutaway for the Visteon/Ford.

The paint is DuPont Chroma Premier base/clear fine silver. The rack, valve components, and other parts were chromed plated. The pinion gear was polished and then gold nitride plated for contrast. All components in the gear are visible and the unit is operable. The base is one-inch acrylic with beveled and polished edges.
