The engine shown is a Caterpillar 3412E marine series diesel. The finish is full show. The Cat yellow is DuPont Chroma Premier and the black accent on the valve covers, intake manifold and cooler housing is a dull finish, power coating. The complete engine weighs 5,600 pounds.

The engine is four point mounted on the normal marine mounts. The base is constructed from steel tube and has casters. The shipping container is a Techcom designed steel reinforced container. The steel base has a laminate cover plate. A clamshell type base cover with black carpet fits over the laminate plate to complete display. This cutaway engine is primarily used for trade show display.
